50 -50 Winner

The winning ticket fron Sat 5th April was No.  11793

“Following media reporting of the racial abuse of an East Stirlingshire player by some fans during the match against Peterhead Football Club at Balmoor Stadium, Peterhead on Saturday 1 March we can confirm that the incident is in the hands of , Police Scotland and a criminal enquiry has been launched into the matter.

All the officials at the club are extremely upset that the positive work ”  the club does within the community with Grampian Racial Equality and Show Racism the Red Card Scotland has been compromised by the unacceptable behaviour of one individual.

A police spokesperson said:

“Racial abuse in any form is not only completely unacceptable, it is also criminal. We will be liaising closely with both football clubs to thoroughly investigate this incident which, at this time, would appear to have involved a small minority of people. We ask any supporters who saw or heard anything of a racist nature to get in touch with Police Scotland on the non-emergency number 101.”

Peterhead FC reacted swiftly to the alleged racist comments at yesterday's game against East Stirling.  The Head Steward approached the group where the comments were alleged to have come from, although no witnesses came forward.  The Club Chairman, General Manager and Safety Officer all made personal apologies to the East Stirling Management Team and to the Player involved.  The Club Officials also approached the Match Officials who advised that whilst they were made aware of the alleged comments, they also did not witness or hear the comments themselves.  The Club would like to emphasise the very strong anit-racism policy laid down by the Club.  We will continue our investigation in an attempt to source the alleged perpetrators. We sincerely apologise for any upset this has caused.

The Coaching Development Plan set up in partnership with Peterhead Boys Club is going extremely well with Manager, Jim McInally , Youth Coaches and former Peterhead FC players Nat Porter and John Sievwright together with young coach Michael Weir ( Billy`s grandson! ) taking the sessions every Tuesday. Several Peterhead boys playing for outlying teams have made a very welcome addition to the squads and the overall feedback has been extremely positive. The Tuesday sessions cover the Under 11s and Under 9s on consecutive weeks and there is certainly a lot of talent on show. The Club are looking to set up an Easter Coaching Week commencing Mon 14th April.      WATCH THIS SPACE!!

Dean Cowie injury

Good news on Deano`s injury to his 4th metatarsel. He is bearing weight on it already and it is hoped that he can make a return to the side quicker than first anticipated. Deano`s drive and determination will be vital as we move in to `the business end of the season`

Kevin Buchan has been loaned to Dundee junior side Lochee Utd for 28 days. The 19 year old has struggled to break into the side this season and will gain some important game time with Lochee.

Dean Richardson hopes to resume full training this week. The talented left full back/ midfielder has now recovered from the facial injury received recently and is hopeful he will get the nod from the specialist to resume `contact` training this week.

Deano had an X-ray on the toe injury he received in Saturdays game against Annan and it revealed a break in his 4th metatarsel and he will be out for at least 4 weeks. Extremely disappointing as Deano is having an excellent season and we will miss his grit and determination in the midfield area.
