Peterhead had goalkeeper Graeme Smith to thank for keeping them in the game as they endured a first-half onslaught, but eventually left Hampden with a hard-earned point.

The home side had the better of the first half, with their right-wing combination of Paul McGinn and Aidan Connolly particularly effective. However, a combination of poor finishing and superb goalkeeping by Smith kept the scores level.

Peterhead gradually came into the match, and started the second half in threatening fashion with Scott Ross coming close with two headers soon after the interval.

But neither side could force a goal, and the points were duly shared - and it turned out to be a good result for both side, with playoff rivals Elgin City and Montrose both dropping points.
