Peterhead have now gone six away games without so much as a point after two early goals for Montrose settled this game.

Former Blue Toon loan man Gary Wood rattled home the opener after just four minutes after Dean Cowie had been caught in possession.

And on the quarter-hour, midfielder Terry Masson steeered the second past debutant goalkeeper Graeme Smith from a Wood cross.

Jamie Redman and Ryan Strachan both hit the woodwork as Peterhead tried to get back into the match, but their efforts were in vain.

A full match report will follow.
