Peterhead have been handed a local derby in the Second Round of the William Hill Scottish Cup, as the draw made at Hampden this afternoon saw them pulled out away to Deveronvale.

The Blue Toon started against Highland League opposition last term, winning through against Nairn County and Inverurie Locos before being knocked out by Celtic at Balmoor in the first match televised live on Sky to be hosted at Balmoor.

Third Division rivals Rangers will travel to Forres Mechanics, with the ties due to be be played on Saturday September 29th.

Meanwhile, boss Jim McInally confirmed after Saturday's win over Queen's Park that striker Robbie Winters has now penned a contract that will keep him at Balmoor until the end of the season.

Speaking after the recent win over Clyde, Winters said "I'm happy to be playing football. We've got a good squad, and we were favourites to win the league before Rangers came into the league.

"We've got a good blend. You see the likes of Martin Bavidge and Stephen Maguire coming off the bench. We've a good squad and the boys want to do well. That's important in part-time football, you've got to have the hunger and desire to do well.

"For the last three years I've been lucky enough to be in sides that have won the league. You tend to work harder through the week as you're only training a couple of times, and if the younger players see an old guy like me working hard then it hopefully rubs off on them."
