The first public showing of Jim McInally's reshaped Peterhead side saw the Blue Toon lose out by the odd goal in three to Inverurie Locos at Harlaw Park.

Locos struck the crossbar twice in the first half, and broke the deadlock in the 64th minute when Neil Gauld swept home from close range.

Peterhead were level just three minutes later. Graeme Sharp cut in from the right and saw his deflected effort loop over Stewart Gray, and in off the underside of the crossbar.

But former Blue Toon man Stuart McKay had the final word, firing home an angled 25-yard shot via the inside of McCallum's right-hand post.
