Peterhead manager Jim McInally is hoping that Peterhead pick up the late Christmas present of three points from visitors Clyde.

The Blue Toon won the first meeting of the season between the sides in a 2-1 success at Cumbernauld last month thanks to Rory McAllister's first half double on a day when heights were hit with a fantatstic on the field display.  Clyde roared back late on through Scott Rumsby however the points headed north and Jim would welcome any type of success that would take his team back above Danny Lennon's side in the League 1 table.

Jim, who recently broke through the 3,000 day barrier of being in charge at Balmoor, said: "A repeat of the perfromance against Clyde in the game at their place would be the perfect late Christmas present. Our performance in the first half was the best 45 minutes I have seen from one of my Peterhead sides. It woud be great to play like that again however I would be quite happy to get a win without playing as well as we did that day. If we secure an ugly 1-0 win I will take it as playing well and not getting anything from games has grown tiresome."

"We know Clyde really well as we played against each other in League 2 last season. They had a great win and perfromance in their 3-1 success over Airdrie last weekend and that result shows you the nature of League 1 this season."

Jim added: "It is an incredible league and it is really enjoyable to be in as a manager as you go into every game believing that you can win. The top four play each other on Saturday and the bottom six play each other and you cannot say any team is a certainty to win. You have to go out and win."

"We trained on Christmas Eve during the day and the players all had a workout to do on Boxing Day so we are ready to go."

Ryan Conroy is a doubt after illness on Thursday however Derek Lyle is fully fit and available for selection from the first whistle.
