Tue 03 Dec 2019

Peterhead have agreed to transfer midfielder Liam MacDonald to Highland League Huntly for an undisclosed fee however the Blue Toon may not have seen the last of the 20-year-old.

MacDonald moved to Balmoor last summer after coming through the Youth Programme at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and featured in games against Dunfermline, Queen's Park and Brechin before being loaned out to Fraserburgh to gain experience for two separate periods.

At the start of this season MacDonald moved to Huntly on a temporary basis where he has established himself in their side and the Harlaw Park side instigated the transfer last week.

Balmoor manager Jim McInally said: “Huntly were very keen to sign Liam, so we had a conversation with him. I believe he can feature at a senior level however he wanted to move, and we agreed not to stand in his way.”

“However, he is a player that we will keep tabs on and when he is ready to step up,

we will be very keen to speak to him again.”
