Peterhead v Clyde | Preview

Fri 20 Sep 2019

The two sides promoted to League 1 do battle at Balmoor on Saturday as Peterhead entertain Clyde.

Injured pair Jack Leitch and Cammy Eadie will miss the visit of the Bully Wee but Rory McAllister returns from suspension while Jamie Stevenson and Derek Lyle are back to full fitness.

The Blue Toon are aiming to atone for a 4-0 loss to Raith Rovers in Kirkcaldy last weekend but Clyde will visit Aberdeenshire in high spirits after a 6-1 demolition of Stranraer.

Peterhead manager Jim McInally said: “Defeats always hurt and last Saturday we were poor but Raith were good and deserve credit.”

“I do think Raith have an advantage of training on their own pitch every day but it does not excuse how poor we were.”

“But if you look at the bigger picture, we have played two hard away games in a row and if somebody had said to me you would get two draws I would have been happy.”

“We managed to win down at Stranraer so we have ended up with three points from those games.”

“The loss at Kirkcaldy last week was not a disaster and we are still searching for a settled team because of injuries and suspensions.”

“We will get there and in the meantime we need to make sure, especially when we play at home, we do our best to pick up points.”

“Although Clyde will be buoyed by their 6-1 win, they were in a game until they got their penalty and Stranraer were reduced to 10 men.”

“We will look to get back on track and we know Clyde pretty well from the last couple of seasons and the two teams have not changed too much so we look forward to it.”
