Two games in two days for Peterhead.

The Blue Toon will cram in a couple of testimonials in quick succession in preparation for the new season.

First up, Fraserburgh will provide the opposition in a match to honour Ryan Christie, who began his Broch career in 2002.

The friendly fixture at Bellslea Park kicks off at 3pm and then Jim McInally’s men will come up against Buchanhaven Hearts, who will pay tribute to the long-serving Kevin Cunningham.

Peterhead will use the matches to step up their fitness ahead of next weekend’s Betfred Cup opener against SPFL newcomers Cove Rangers.

Against Aberdeen in midweek, the Balmoor men were lively in the first half and although they faded after the interval, there were encouraging signs in the 2-0 defeat.

Peterhead assistant manager Davie Nicholls said: “We have two local derbies and it is important we take how we played against Aberdeen into those games.”

“We want to play the way Aberdeen play against the likes of Fraserburgh and the local junior team in Peterhead so it will be good to have these games.”
