Clyde v Peterhead | Preview

Fri 05 Apr 2019

Peterhead defender Jason Brown insists the Blue Toon will target a victory at Broadwood but has admitted the pressure is on Clyde to pick up the points.

It is a three-way fight for the League 2 title, with the Blue Toon currently leading by five points going into the remaining five fixtures.

Edinburgh, their closest challengers, visit Cowdenbeath while Clyde are still in the mix, just a further point adrift.

Brown said: “We are on the ones to be caught and we know if we win our remaining games we will win the league and that is what we will try and do.”

“The Clyde game is another big one but last week’s was big as well and it will be the same next Saturday.”

“We just prepare the normal way and go down there full of confidence wth nothing really to lose.”

“We will have a never-say-die attitude and see where it takes us.”

Balmoor boss Jim McInally has praised the consistency of the top three ahead of the trip to Cumbernauld.

McInally said: “I keep saying it, I think the three teams have done so well.”

“We are on 70 points with five games to go.  The other two are on 64 and 65 so there is not another league like this one.  It is some tussle really.”

“I think the players from the three clubs should be pretty proud of themselves and the next two weeks will make the difference.”
