Peterhead 1-0 Cowdenbeath: What the managers said

Post-match reaction

Blue Toon manager Jim McInally

“We scored a scrappy goal but we created lots of really good chances.”

“You begin to think it might be of those nights especially when Jack Leitch stops Derek Lyle’s shot from going in on the line; you think Cowdenbeath will now go up the park and score.”

“I just felt we had a little flat period in the second half where we lost a bit of control of the game for about 10 or 15 minutes but we got it back, although not scoring that second goal made it a wee bit nervy.”

“We still saw the game out well.”

“I saw the stats after the game and we had 26 efforts at goals, which was pleasing, because I feel we have not had enough of late so to play at that tempo was what I was looking for.”

Cowdenbeath manager Gary Bollan

“It was a tough evening but I thought we put in a good performance.”

“The players worked hard and they were saying in the dressing room afterwards that the goal came off Robbie Deas and went into the roof of the net so we were a bit unfortunate there.”

“For effort and commitment, I cannot fault them.  We have come up here against a good side in Peterhead, who are real title contenders.”

“At no stage were we out of the game and I felt in the second half, when we had to defend, we did so really well.”
