Peterhead 0-0 Edinburgh: What the managers said

Sun 10 Feb 2019

Post-match reaction

Blue Toon manager Jim McInally:

“It was poor entertainment, that is for sure.”

“There was a lot of effort but there was certainly no quality and we have plenty of quality.”

“Edinburgh have as well but the quality players did not come to the fore in this game, although everybody worked hard.”

“I know it was windy but that was not an excuse and I do not think our players were brave enough to do that extra wee bit.”

“They were playing too safe rather than taking a chance.”

“It was a good clean sheet but it was poor stuff and it means nothing has changed at the top, even with Clyde drawing their game.”

“I do not like having games in hand but every game is big now until the end of the season.”

Edinburgh manager James McDonaugh:

“It was not a great game.”

“I do not think the conditions helped because although the pitch looked conducive for good football, unfortunately the wind made it impossible.”

“Both teams were pretty level and Peterhead had a good chance early on and we had one as well.”

“0-0 probably summed the game up.”

“I think we have got to be happy with a point.  That is three times we have played Peterhead and we have managed to avoid defeat, picking up five points.”

“Coming away here, you do not want to let Peterhead gain ground and confidence to catch us so another clean sheet from us, I think that is 11 from 24 games, which is a pretty exceptioal return.”
