Peterhead can narrow the gap at the top of League 2 to one point with a home win over leaders Edinburgh City.

The Blue Toon also have two games in hand on their title rivals, both against Cowdenbeath.

Jim McInally’s men were beaten 1-0 the last time the capital club visited Balmoor while the reverse fixture at Ainslie Park finished 1-1.

Peterhead’s game against the Blue Brazil was postponed last Saturday meaning Edinburgh were able to go four points clear with their win over Albion Rovers.

But the Blue Toon will look upon the next week as crucial, knowing that City have an Irn-Bru Cup tie coming up.

That will give Peterhead the chance to get closer or go above James McDonaugh’s team depending on Saturday’s result.

Team news - Simon Ferry is doubtful with a knee injury but new signings Shane Sutherland and Paul Willis could feature.
