Peterhead have signed goalkeeper Sam Henderson until the end of the current campaign.

The teenager was formerly on the books of Queen of the South and has recently been with East Kilbride as an amateur.

With Ryan Gibson’s loan deal up, Henderson will provide back-up to Greg Fleming and will be eligible for selection for Saturday’s League 2 match against Albion Rovers.

The match in Coatbridge is a chance for the Blue Toon to respond to last weekend’s defeat to Clyde.

Manager Jim McInally said: “We bounced back well from the two other defeats we suffered earlier in the season and the players need to do the same again.”

“It is a difficult venue on Saturday against an much-changed Albion team since we last met.”

“They also have a new manager and a new assistant so we have to go there and get a job done.”

“It is one of those of games to win at all costs rather than worry about the performance.”

“We need to improve on every aspect where we failed against Clyde and the bottom line was we probably had six or seven players not up to scratch.”

“Games like the one last week can happen but as long as they do not happen too often, we should be okay.”

Midfielder Scott Brown is determined to learn from last week’s loss and get back to winning ways.

The former St Johnstone player said: “We need to pick ourselves up.”

“We know it will be tough against Albion and we know what to expect down there.”

“The pitch is never nice but it will be up to us to roll our sleeves up and fight for the three points.”

“Maybe we can top if other results go our way but the focus is only on our own game.”

Meanwhile, an agreement has been reached for Aaron Norris to continue his loan with Formartine Utd.

The 20 year old will stay with the Highland League club until the end of the season.
