Peterhead 1-1 Queen’s Park

Post-match reaction

Peterhead boss Jim McInally:

“I thought a draw was a fair reflection of the game.”

“The first half was okay at times after losing a goal to a set-piece, which gave us a bit of a mountain to climb.”

“We got back in it and played some good stuff but the second half was pretty poor with hardly any shots at goal from either team.”

“You are always aware that Queen’s Park are really fit and organised so with about 15 minutes to go, you start thinking we are not playing well enough to win so don’t lose the match.”

“That was the only positive to come out of the second half really.”

Queen’s Park manager Gus MacPherson:

“I’m delighted.  When you come up here and take a point back down the road, you have got to be happy.”

“It was a battle and that was what we expected but we stood up to it and I thought our centre halves were outstanding.”

“I think just a little bit more composure in the final third might have created a better opportunity but their workrate was absolutely fantastic.”

“We have been stressing to the players what is required after so many changes within the group so to come away from here with a point, regardless if it is the first game or last game, you have got to be happy.”
