PETERHEAD 1-0 STENHOUSEMUIR (Stenhousemuir won 2-1 on aggregate)

STENHOUSEMUIR MANAGER BROWN FERGUSON

“It was a very comfortable and composed first half and a very nervy second half.”

“I thought in the first half, we were excellent but we just did not take the chances when they came along.”

“In the second half, it was roles reversal and Peterhead put us under enormous pressure so to hold firm and ultimately achieve what we have done, I am absolutely thrilled.”

“This is something that the club does not achieve that often.”

“Somebody told me before the match that we have won two promotions in our history, maybe three if you look at league reconstruction, but outright two promotions.”

“It is a hard, hard feat and it is a big ask especially when you have the likes of Peterhead in the league and Montrose so to go back up at the first time of asking is great.”

“I do have sympathy for Peterhead and this is a difficult one to take for them.”

“I felt as though Montrose did deserve the league title because they were so consistent and we were unable to beat them at all throughout the course of the season.”

“Peterhead do have some fantastic players and they have missed out on promotion but I think next season, they will be favourites to come back up.”
