Post-match thoughts

Peterhead manager Jim McInally:

“It was good patience from us because I could sense even at half time that there was a frustration creeping in.”

“I reminded the players there were still 45 minutes to go and just to keep at it and hope something happens.”

“David McGurn is a goalkeeper I know well because I had him at Morton and he can have days when he is just a brilliant shotstopper.”

“He was terrific but we kept going and Jordon did what he does well.  It was a fantastic header and a great goal.”

“We fully deserved it.”

Cowdenbeath manager Gary Bollan:

“I felt throughout the game we were put under a bit of pressure, which we expected, but I thought we handled it very well.”

“Through the 90 minutes, I felt we matched Peterhead for long spells and we knew we had to go and press them to stop the service to Rory McAllister, who is a big danger.”

“We fell a goal behind but then we had a really good chance and if we capitalised on that, it would have been a very nervy last five minutes for Peterhead.”

“We just have to take this on the chin.  We know we are in the play-offs now so we have got to make sure we lift the lads and get them ready for those games.”
