Peterhead manager Jim McInally is expecting an open match when bottom of the table Cowdenbeath visit Balmoor in League 2 on Saturday.

The Blue Toon know nothing less than three points will do in their quest to hunt down leaders Montrose.

The same can be said for Gary Bollan’s men, who need a victory to keep alive their faint hopes of avoiding the pyramid play-off to retain their SPFL status.

McInally, who will make a late decision on knee injury-victim Jack Leitch, said: “Both teams need to go for it.”

“I don't think a point would be good enough for Cowdenbeath so they need to come up and win.”

“The last time they were at Balmoor, they sat in a bit, although they were a goal ahead, but I would imagine this time they will come out and have a go at us.”

“Our frame of mind is that we need to win our three remaining games and even that might not be enough.”

“But it is pleasing that our options are really good just now for selecting a team.”

“We have a strong squad and you just need to look at the players, who have not even been used from the bench recently, to know we have good depth.”
