Berwick Rangers v Peterhead: League 2 Preview

Fri 06 Apr 2018

Peterhead remain top of League 2 going into their match against Berwick, after Montrose’s catch-up fixture at Cowdenbeath was postponed on Tuesday.

The equation is straightforward, for now at least – a Blue Toon win will keep them above their title rivals, who visit Stirling on Saturday.

Striker Russell McLean, who scored twice in the Balmoor team's victory over Clyde last weekend, believes maximum points from their remaining games will exert maximum pressure on Montrose.

McLean said: “Montrose have got a harder run-in because they have got to play teams going for promotion, the likes of Stirling and Stenhousemuir.”

“We have played those sides already but we just need to focus on ourselves.”

“If we keep winning and they lose a game, it is back in our own hands so that is the message - just keep winning.”

“It does not matter how we win, as long as we pick up three points.”
