Russell McLean will spearhead Peterhead’s attack for their League 2 trip to Cowdenbeath as Rory McAllister recovers from an ankle injury.

McLean scored a hat-trick in Tuesday night’s 3-3 draw at Annan after replacing the Blue Toon top goalscorer in the first half.

Another forward who came off the bench, Karim Belmokhtar, featured as a trialist and is set to be included in the squad again.

Second-top Peterhead are looking to get back on the winning trail after three consecutive draws, a run which has hindered their attempts to reel in leaders Montrose.

Jim McInally’s men are five points adrift and will play their other game in hand, against Clyde, on Tuesday.

They will be determined to go into that game off the back of a victory at Central Park, a venue where they won 4-0 earlier this season.
