A run of four games in 11 days will be crucial, according to assistant boss Davie Nicholls, in Peterhead’s quest to win the League 2 title.

“This is a massive spell for us,” said the Blue Toon number two.

Nicholls commented: “I know our form has dipped in recent games but I think all the teams have been through sticky periods at some point.”

“Prior to the last few weeks, we went on a long winning run and we were high-scoring”

“We are trying to get everybody back because players have had issues of their own regarding injuries and things away from football.”

“But I get the feeling the boys are getting back to their best now and I saw that at training this week.”

Peterhead are tracking Montrose, who lead the way after three straight victories including one at Balmoor.

Jim McInally’s men, having won just one of their last four outings, trail by six points but they do still have two games in hand.

Nicholls said: “What Montrose do, they do it well.”

“They know how to defend and are a hard-working side and they have shown in the last couple of weeks that they are effective in digging out 1-0 wins.”

“But Jim and I are only focussing on Peterhead.”

“No disrespect to Montrose, I do not really care what they do. It is all about us doing the business on the park.”

“As we previously mentioned, the next week and a half will be huge and if we can catch Montrose up then remember we have still to play them.”

“I am more than convinced we can go on a run.”
