Gaining revenge for a painful defeat to Berwick is on Peterhead’s agenda when the teams meet at Shielfield Park.

The Borderers won the Balmoor fixture in September by scoring twice in the closing stages, despite the Blue Toon being largely untroubled during the match.

PFC manager Jim McInally said: “It was a one-sided game up until we conceded a free-kick with about 15 minutes to go.”

“Scott Brown could have played the ball away but he left it and their player nipped in to score and then they caught us with another sucker punch at the death when we were pushing for an equaliser.”

“It was a sore defeat and it is still fresh in the mind.”

McInally, whose men were inactive last week due to a postponement, continued: “I watched Berwick at Montrose last Saturday and they were poor in the first half but improved massively in the second half.”

“Their home record is good but our away form is decent and it will have to remain that way for us to get a result.”

Team news:
David McCracken and Russell McLean missed training in midweek due to illness but both could still feature.

Willie Gibson, Jack Leitch and Aidan McIlduff had been doubtful for last week’s game against Clyde, which failed to beat the weather. The trio are back to full fitness though.
