PITCH INSPECTION SATURDAY @ 0800
Peterhead boss Jim McInally has injury concerns over three regular starters for this weekend’s League 2 clash against Clyde.
The Blue Toon manager, whose team defeated Stirling on Tuesday to move joint top, said: “I will leave it until Saturday before deciding on the starting line-up.”
“I consciously decided not to see the players on Thursday this week because they had worked so hard in the two games in four days.”
“We have a few players, who are touch and go.”
“Willie Gibson had a really bad dead leg after being on the receiving end of a poor challenge, which saw the Stirling player sent off.”
“Aidan McIlduff has been carrying a knee problem for a few weeks and Jack Leitch has an issue with his groin so we will give them every opportunity.”
“But, by the same token, we have a good squad of players and if they don’t make it then we will just get on with it.”
Despite trailing early on, Peterhead were 4-1 victors when they faced the Bully Wee in October.
Former St Mirren boss Danny Lennon has since taken up managerial duties at Broadwood, after Jim Chapman paid the price for a poor run of results.
McInally said: “Danny will have a different way of playing.”
“I know that from his time with St Mirren and then when he took over Airdrie for a while he tried to emphasise a different style.”
“But it will be the same players we are up against and we just need to make sure that we win our battles.”
