Peterhead manager Jim McInally is close to completing his first summer signings as he begins to reshape his squad.

Out-of-contract Cove Rangers midfielder Blair Yule and the versatile Mason Robertson are among McInally's transfers targets.

Yule, who had a trial at Doncaster last year, is the son of former Blue Toon man Raymond.

22 year old Robertson, formerly of Stenhousemuir, had a footballing father as well - the former Aberdeen, Rangers and Scotland full-back David.

Several other players are also on the radar of the Balmoor boss, who has released most of his pool following the club's relegation to League 2.

McInally said: "We have been busy and hopefully we can conclude some deals either on Thursday or Friday."

"It's no secret that we have been trying to sign Blair Yule, who has been over in Australia and I think he comes back this week."

"We are waiting to get an answer from Blair but Mason Robertson has got back to us and said he is quite happy to sign."

"It's just a case of trying to get the paperwork done on that front and I have got another two or three players that I am hopeful of bringing to the club soon."

"Once we get everything signed and sealed then we will get the news out."

Having missed out on numerous signing targets last year, Peterhead are aiming to act swiftly to avoid a repeat.

McInally is determined to put together a new-look squad to revive the Blue Toon's fortunes following a dismal campaign.

The former Dundee Utd midfielder added: "We needed to change the squad a bit and many people will think it's a season too late."

"For some strange reason, it seems easier to do business this summer compared to last year and therefore it has given us a better chance to turn the squad over."
