Peterhead learn Betfred Cup opponents

Peterhead will face Dundee, Dumbarton, Forfar and East Fife in the Betfred Cup group stage.

The team which tops the section in a round-robin format will advance to the knock-out stage but there is the possibility of the second top team prevailing as well.

The revamped tournament sees the eight group winners moving through to the last 16 along with the four best placed runners-up.

They will join Scotland's four representatives in European competition, Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs, in the second round. The group fixture dates and home ties will be announced next week.

St Johnstone, Falkirk, Brechin, Stirling Albion, Elgin

Group C
Inverness Caley Thistle, Dundee Utd, Dunfermline, Arbroath, Cowdenbeath

Group D
Ross County, Raith Rovers, Alloa, Cove Rangers, Montrose

Group E
Partick Thistle, Queen of the South, Stenhousemuir, Queen's Park, Airdrie

Group F
Motherwell, Rangers, Stranraer, East Stirling, Annan

Group G
Hamilton, St Mirren, Edinburgh City, Livingston, Ayr Utd

Group H
Kilmarnock, Morton, Berwick, Albion Rovers, Clyde

The first round games, which will be played between the 16th - 30th July, will feature three points for a win and one point for a draw.  Games that do end level will go straight to penalty kicks, with the shoot-out winner earning a bonus point.
