Peterhead seeking to end 2015 on a high

Thu 24 Dec 2015

Peterhead visit Airdrie on Boxing Day determined to stretch their unbeaten run to seven matches in League 1, where they currently sit fourth.

The Blue Toon have put an average autumn behind them and Shane Sutherland, who netted twice in last weekend's 3-0 win over Ayr, says they aim to continue their climb up the table.
The former Inverness striker said: "We are just looking to win our next game but with the boys we have in the squad, there is no reason why we should not be in the top four at least."
"After a good start to the season, including beating Dunfermline, we did not win a game for a long time."
"You just think, had we picked up a couple of wins during that period, we would be right up close to them."
"But the most important thing is going to Airdrie and picking up three points."
Sutherland doubled his tally for the season with his well-taken brace last Saturday, after coming on early as a substitute.
However, the 25 year old knows his goals might not be enough to earn him a starting slot in North Lanarkshire.
Sutherland added: "I've just got to bide my time."
"The boys have been doing well and apart from the Scottish Cup game against Livingston, we have not been beaten for a while."
"I can't complain about not getting in the team.  I just keep telling myself that when I come off the bench, I need to try and improve and impress."
"If that earns me a start then great but if not then hopefully I can make an impact off the bench again."
Airdrie will have a different face in the dug-out with Eddie Wolecki Black this week named the Diamonds' new Head Coach following the departure of Gary Bollan to Forfar.
