Peterhead twice came from behind to defeat Cowdenbeath at Central Park in League 2.

Mick Dunlop marked his first start for the club with a first half goal but the Blue Toon still trailed at the interval.

Derek Lyle levelled shortly after the restart and strikes from Rory McAllister and Willie Gibson ensured the Blue Toon continued their unblemished away record.

Cowden defender Jason Talbot started the six-goal thriller in the 10th minute, drilling a left-foot shot beyond Greg Fleming.

But the hosts were ahead for just four minutes as Dunlop pounced from close-range following a corner.

Former Peterhead utility player David Cox had a hand in Gary Bollan’s team’s second in the 27th minute, crossing for Robbie Buchanan, who planted a header into the bottom corner.

The second half, however, belonged to Peterhead and Lyle hauled the visitors level in the 47th minute by beating David McGurn from just a few yards out.

10 minutes later, McAllister smashed a low shot from inside the penalty area into the corner of the net to swing the match in the Blue Toon’s favour.

Jim McInally’s men made sure of the victory in the 67th minute when Gibson, from a free-kick, fired past McGurn to keep them second in the table, tucked in behind Edinburgh City.
