Peterhead were rampant at Cliftonhill as Albion Rovers crashed to a second 4-0 defeat in as many games.

Jamie Stevenson gave the Blue Toon an interval lead before Derek Lyle opened his account for his new club.

Rory McAllister slotted in a penalty in the closing stages for his 100th SPFL goal and Scott Brown completed the scoring in stoppage time.

The win and the goals will have given Jim McInally’s team a big lift.

There was just one change from last week’s draw against Queen’s Park, Jack Leitch returning from suspension at the expense of Callum Home.

Stevenson broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute with a low drive, which flew into the bottom corner.

The versatlie 34 year old went from scorer to provider on the hour mark, whipping in a cross for Lyle to head past Gareth Hallford.

With eight minutes remaining, McAllister drew and converted a penalty after going down under Barry Eley’s challenge.  The Blue Toon striker dusted himself down to net for the second game in a row.

Albion, who have yet to score in any competition, were put out of their misery in added time when Brown found the bottom corner with a well-taken 20 yard shot.
