LEAGUE 1 PLAY-OFF FINAL 1ST LEG

Peterhead have it all to do in their League 1 Play-off final after two second half goals from Mick Dunlop made Stenhousemuir firm favourites.

The Stenny skipper scored with a couple of headers, capitalising on suspect defending from the visitors.

It was a disappointing night for the Blue Toon and for Rory McAllister, who missed a penalty just before half time.

McAllister failed to hit the target from the spot after Allan Smith was brought down by Mark Ferry.

The second half belonged to Dunlop, a player who had netted just once all season.  In the space of a quarter of an hour, he managed to score two.

In the 61st minute, Dunlop got on the end of an Eddie Ferns delivery to nod past Greg Fleming and he did the same again in the 76th minute from Alan Cook’s centre.

Despite coming into the Ochilview match off the back of an eight match winning run, Peterhead were off the pace and while there is still time to turn the tie in their favour, the clock is ticking.
