Peterhead’s winning run in League 2 was ended by Clyde, who scored late to pick up a first win at Broadwood since August.

David Goodwillie came up with the decisive strike with five minutes remaining when the game was heading for stalemate.

The result was a setback for the second-top Blue Toon, who slipped four points behind leaders Montrose following the Gable Endies’ victory over Stirling Albion.

Peterhead twice went close in the first half, Jack Leitch just missing the target with a low drive and then Rory McAllister firing narrowly wide with a shot from outside of the box.

Clyde had a couple of efforts from distance after the interval but Peterhead looked comfortable, although they had to replace Mason Robertson through injury with 12 minutes remaining.

Just when it looked like both sides would have to settle for a point apiece, Goodwillie struck from close range.

The former Scotland international was on hand to knock the ball under Greg Fleming from Barry Cuddihy’s assist and claim Clyde’s first home goal since November 11th.
