There is something about Stenhousemuir that Peterhead just don't seem to like.

Last season, the Warriors had the Indian sign over the Blue Toon, even though both teams ended up getting relegated to League 2.

And today at Ochilview, the Balmoor club's wretched record against Brown Ferguson's team continued.

Nathan Blockley, released from Peterhead in the summer, was among the scorers for the hosts as they registered their first victory of the season.

The Blue Toon, after knocking East Fife out of the IRN-BRU Cup on Tuesday, reverted back to a team along the lines to the one, which eased to victory over Elgin.

However, there was no Rory McAllister, who failed to shrug off a hamstring strain. Scott Ross was also absent from the starting line-up.

Stenny went in front after just seven minutes, Mark McGuigan clipping the ball over Greg Fleming and into the net.

After Blockley went close to a second, Jim McInally's men drew level on the half hour mark. Mason Robertson peeled off at the back post to send a free header past Chris Smith to score against his former employers.

But Peterhead trailed again seven minutes into the second half after conceding an untidy goal. Following a scramble in the penalty area, Blockley bundled home from close range.

Jamie Longworth then wrapped up the points with nine minutes remaining to inflict a first league defeat on the Blue Toon.

The good news is that they don't face Stenny again until November 11th.
