Peterhead and Stranraer serve up six goal thriller

In front. Behind. In front. Draw

It was a bit of a rollercoaster ride for Peterhead at Stranraer as the teams shared six goals in this League 1 cracker.

Rory McAllister and Willie Gibson both scored two each but it ended all square on the south west.

The result keeps the Blue Toon eighth in the table, four points clear of the relegation play-offs and four points adrift of the top four.

Unpredictable Peterhead but predictable McAllister, who continues to find the net with regularity.

The 29 year old has scored six goals in his last four matches and his 12th minute opener at Stair Park was a well-struck effort from just outside the penalty area, which flew into the top corner.

Back came the hosts, however.

They levelled in the 19th minute thanks to a Ryan Thomson header and then Gibson's sumptous free-kick in the 33rd minute meant Peterhead trailed at the interval.

McAllister levelled 10 minutes into the second half with a bullet header to claim his 20th goal of the season and when Grant Anderson slotted home from close range in the 67th minute, it looked as if the Blue Toon's long trip would be worthwhile.

But Gibson's low drive five minutes later ensured Stevie Farrell's unbeaten start as Stranraer boss stretched to four games.
