Fans favourite David Cox returned to training this week. The tough tackling midfielder is hoping to get back to light running over the next couple of weeks and all going well make a welcome return to first team duty in March.

Dean Cowie injury

Good news on Deano`s injury to his 4th metatarsel. He is bearing weight on it already and it is hoped that he can make a return to the side quicker than first anticipated. Deano`s drive and determination will be vital as we move in to `the business end of the season`

Kevin Buchan has been loaned to Dundee junior side Lochee Utd for 28 days. The 19 year old has struggled to break into the side this season and will gain some important game time with Lochee.

Dean Richardson hopes to resume full training this week. The talented left full back/ midfielder has now recovered from the facial injury received recently and is hopeful he will get the nod from the specialist to resume `contact` training this week.

Deano had an X-ray on the toe injury he received in Saturdays game against Annan and it revealed a break in his 4th metatarsel and he will be out for at least 4 weeks. Extremely disappointing as Deano is having an excellent season and we will miss his grit and determination in the midfield area.

Coxy on the mend

Fans favourite David Cox is well on the way to recovery from the broken metatarsel sustained 5 weeks ago. Coxy had the foot X rayed on Thursday and was advised it was healing well. He goes back to the `Doc` on 19th Dec when it is hoped he will be able to resume training. Whilst it is difficult to put a date on it here`s hoping Coxy will be back to full fitness early in the new year.

After 17 weeks on the sidelines Ryan Strachan has now returned to full training. The former Aberdeen and Celtic starlet has now fully recovered from his injury and is ready to return to the squad.

Congratulations to our young goalkeeper Ewen MacDonald who has earned trials for Scotland Under 18s to be held at Torryglen, Glasgow on Friday 29th Nov. Ewen works with our senior goalkeepers Graeme Smith and Paul Jarvie every Wednesday at Forfar and has featured in the first team squad on two occasions this season. He is presently loaned out to local Superleague side Longside where his performances have been receiving excellent reviews. The young Newburgh boy is certainly one for the future.

Billy Tait

It was with great sadness that we heard that Billy Tait, father of our goalkeeping coach Scott Tait recently passed away. Billy was a well known and very popular character in the football fraternity and he will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with the family at this time.

Manger Jim McInally has managed to complete the loan of talented defender, Reece Donaldson from Raith Rovers until January 2014. Reece had an excellent debut last Saturday against East Stirlingshire and deservedly picked up th Man of the Match award from sponsors Shearer, Bruce, Paterson Accountants. Early indications would show that Jim has picked up a real gem and here`s hoping that Reece will be instrumental in our push for promotion this season.
