23.08.14 Peterhead v Morton :Winning Number 5798

Peterhead Football Club are delighted to announce  the signing of new player. Mark Millar who will play in tomorrow’s away game against Airdrie.

He started his career with Scottish Premier League club Celtic, spending a six-month spell on loan at Újpest in Hungary. He then moved on to Scottish First Division club Falkirk. In June 2012 he signed a three year deal with side Dundee United. He then returned to Falkirk on loan for much of the 2013-14 season before being released from his Dundee United contract in May 2014

He has been capped at both U19 and U21 level for Scotland.

Millar is a central midfielder. Although he is small he is an aggressive tackler. During his time in Hungary he noted how the players there were skilful but didn't like being closed down and he used this to his advantage by putting in lots of tough tackles.Millar is also a good player technically and has been described as a "playmaker".

We would all like to wish him a warm welcome to Peterhead F.C.

The supporters club are holding there annual question and answer session with Jim McInally on Friday 8th August. Come along and put your best questions to him. Kick of is at 7:30pm in the home team changing rooms.

Jim McInally and his team are gearing up for another glamour friendly against Aberdeen FC this summer.

The Dons preseaon schedule will climax with a trip to Balmoor on Sunday, July 6th (KO 1pm).

When Aberdeen visited the Blue Toon last year, the home side kicked off their title-winning campaign with a triumphant 3-2 victory.

Rory McAllister and former Don Jordon Brown were both on the scoresheet that day.

This week children from Buchanhaven school were the latest to be treated to an afternoon with Jim McInally and the League Two trophy.

Throughout this season Peterhead FC management and staff have taken time to coach kids both at school and during the holidays.

All this comes as part of a bigger push to get the Blue Toon involved in the community.

Since the team lifted the trophy, Jim and general manager Nat Porter have visited Dales Park, Clerkhill and Buchanhaven schools and are set for a trip to Meethill Primary on Tuesday.

The Blue Toon are delighted to reveal that attendances from our title-winning season smashed the records set in 2012/13.

Excluding the bumper crowds we drew for the two clashes with Rangers, the average attendance last season was 475.

This year that number soared to 590, a remarkable rise of 24 percent.

Everyone here at Balmoor would like to say a big thank you to all our dedicated fans without whom the title success simply would not have been possible.

On Tuesday Jim McInally and his players will be presented with the prestigious Pride of Buchan award by Aberdeenshire Council.

Local councillors will pay tribute to the League Two champions and recognise the positive effect the title-winning campaign has had on the community.

Several players will visit Arbuthnot house to collect their latest accolade.

In the days after captain Steven Noble and his team mates lifted the trophy Buchan Area Committee chairman Stuart Pratt said: "Congratulations to Peterhead players and staff on winning their first ever senior trophy.

"If it had not been for the Rangers debacle this would have happened last year.

"The club has had two fantastic seasons and the Toon is very proud of their achievements."

Fans favourites David Cox and Dean Cowie have both agreed deals to keep them with the Bloo Toon next season. Manager Jim McInally is delighted the two hard tackling midfielders have agreed to put pen to paper as the Club moves up to League 1. Coxy has now fully recovered from the foot injury which kept him sidelined in the run up to the Championship and is looking forward to a good pre-season to get back to full fitness. Deano was a virtual ever present during the season and was a key figure in what was a fantastic campaign for the Bloo Toon.  Jim has now agreed deals with 18 players for 2014-15.

Jim McInally is delighted to add defender Ross Smith to his squad for next season.

Peterhead Football Club are thrilled to announce that 12 players have agreed contract extensions this week.

Paul Jarvie, Graeme Sharp, Scott Ross, Ryan Strachan, Jamie Redman, Bryan Gilfillan, Andy Rodgers, Jordon Brown, Fraser McLaren, Steven Noble, Dean Richardson and Ryan McCann will all be taking part in the Blue Toon’s 2014/15 League One campaign.

Both Rory McAllister and Graeme Smith are already signed up for next year, and manager Jim McInally expects Dean Cowie and David Cox both to agree terms this week.

Our stalwart club captain Callum MacDonald, who has served the Blue Toon for seven years, has not been offered an extension.

Sadly Callum’s season has been blighted by a severe knee injury and he has been unable to play a part in the title-winning charge.

Our manager has made it clear to Callum that he would like him to join the squad during preseason to continue his recovery and that should he get back to full fitness he will be welcome to rejoin the team.

We will however be waving goodbye to three players who have not been offered new deals.

Peterhead Football Club would like to thank Conner McGlinchey, Kevin Buchan and Jake Fitzgerald for all their hard work and wish them well for the future.

Peterhead Football Club are delighted to confirm that manager Jim McInally has been in discussions with Raith Rovers’ defender Reece Donaldson and expects the 20-year-old to agree a contract within the coming days.

Reece, who proved a fan favourite during a loan period at Balmoor earlier this season, is an exciting addition to Peterhead’s roster as Jim shapes his squad for the coming campaign.

Reece joined Peterhead on loan from The Rovers in November and proved popular with the Balmoor crowd.

The young centre back was twice chosen by our match-day sponsors as Man of the Match in his four home appearances.

His performances were so impressive that Raith decided to recall Reece, one of their longest-serving players, for the second half of their Championship campaign.

Now Reece has been released from Stark’s Park  and is eager to rejoin the Blue Toon’s title-winning team.
