David Cox

Fri 24 Oct 2014

It was reported in this morning's Daily Record that an arrest warrant has been issued for Peterhead FC player David Cox. Peterhead FC can confirm that David has spoken with a lawyer and the warrant will not be followed up.

David was due to attend court in Glasgow yesterday morning but - as many of you will be aware - has spent this week coaching young players in Peterhead.

Manager Jim McInally said: "We were understandably shocked to hear the police were looking to arrest David. As soon as we saw it in the paper, David spoke with his lawyer and sorted everything out.

"It was a simple misunderstanding and although we do not want to make light of the situation, Coxy is not a 'fugitive from the law' as the paper said. He has spent the week doing great work in the community here in the Blue Toon."

Peterhead FC has given David its full support
