There is a big incentive for Peterhead to win at Stirling on Tuesday.

Not only would they avenge a 4-2 defeat in August, they would top League 2 for the first time this season.

Midfielder Jack Leitch said: “In the first game against Stirling, we were poor. We did not start well and found ourselves 4-1 down at half time.”

“I ended up at left back and Scott Brown was at right back because we were short on numbers and it was just a bad day.”

“Hopefully we can change that on Tuesday.”

Having won six of their last seven games in all competitions, the Blue Toon will travel to Forthbank in confident mood.

Leitch continued: “It is a massive game but all the games now are big.”

“As you go into Christmas, you want to win as many games as you can and it is also the time when you start to look at results elsewhere.”

“Results went for us on Saturday so hopefully we can go down there and continue our good form.”

Peterhead were due to face the Binos at the end of last month but a snowy surface postponed the original fixture.

Blue Toon boss Jim McInally said: “We still owe Stirling from the last time and that defeat is still raw.”

“We should go down there even more confident than we would have done a week past Saturday.”

“We have won our last two matches at Balmoor 3-0 so we will go and enjoy Tuesday night, knowing if we can win the game, we will put ourselves right in there.”
