Last week, Peterhead completed a hat-trick of recent wins over Annan.

On Saturday, the Blue Toon will aim to repeat the feat against their former Highland League rivals Elgin.

When the teams met in the Betfred Cup group stage at Borough Briggs, Jim McInally’s men ran out 3-0 winners and then they triumphed by the same scoreline in League 2 at Balmoor.

However, Elgin have since changed manager following the departure of Jim Weir to Forfar.

Gavin Price, who had been Weir’s deputy, took over and has guided the Black and Whites to three straight wins, form matched by Peterhead.

Speaking ahead of the trip to Moray, Blue Toon boss Jim McInally commented: “Elgin are in good shape having won their last three games, like us.”

“They will be in good heart and they are a team we have already played a couple of times this season.”

“I felt the 3-0 scoreline up there was a bit harsh on Elgin but we totally dominated the game at Balmoor.”

“Both sides know what to expect of each another and although Elgin have changed manager, not much has changed as far as personnel goes.”

“This is as good a derby match as we get so we know how tough it is going to be.”

Team news - David McCracken is out with a hamstring strain and Marc Lawrence is still sidelined with a back problem.

Jamie Stevenson is rated doubtful but Jordon Brown and Nicky Riley are fit again and pushing for starting berths.
