McInally predicting good atmosphere for Raith cup tie

Mon 23 Oct 2017

The recent Scottish Cup draw was not overly kind to Peterhead but boss Jim McInally was still happy his team got a home tie.

The third round draw had to be re-done due to, what the Scottish Football Association described as, a technical issue.

Basically, there was a mix-up which lead to the number of Brora Rangers being called out twice.

Peterhead, having initially been paired with Championship side Dumbarton, were then given a tie against League 1 leaders Raith Rovers.

The match will go-ahead on Saturday 18th November.

McInally said: “There were a couple of draws, the first Dumbarton away and the second Raith Rovers at home.”

“We probably dug out two of the hardest ties but I do think Raith at Balmoor is one that our supporters will enjoy.”

“A home game gives the fans value for money, especially the season-ticket holders.”

“I am sure Raith will bring up about about 200 supporters and it should make for a right good atmosphere.”
