Fringe players will get their chance again when Peterhead face Annan in the IRN-BRU Cup second round.

A much-changed Blue Toon enjoyed a fine 2-0 win away to East Fife last month to set up a home tie against the Galabankies.

Rookies Marc Lawrence and Scott Adams made the most of rare starts by scoring the goals in Methil.

Both are expected to feature on Saturday as the Balmoor club look to go on a run in a competition they reached the final in 18 months ago.

Goalkeeper Greg Fleming said: "After a couple of defeats in League 2, we want to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible."

"We have got a home tie against Annan to look forward to so hopefully we can turn things around."

"You want to win every game, regardless of the competition, but it is important after a couple of poor results."

Both Jamie Stevenson and Mickael Ngango Dikobo will miss out, after the pair came off injured in the first half against Stirling Albion last week.

David McCracken and Mason Robertson could return, however.
