LEAGUE 2

PETERHEAD 2-4 STIRLING ALBION

PETERHEAD MANAGER JIM McINALLY:

"When we scored the goal, I don't know if that lulled us into a false sense of security but, certainly, to concede goals like that was just horrific really."

"We defended really poorly, heading the ball back into our own box and just making individual errors."

"The players were not protecting each other and could not get to grips with what was going on so it was hard at half time to lift them but at least they fought in the second half."

"There are no excuses for what happened, absolutely none."

"The problem we have got now is that teams are fired up when they come here and regardless of Stirling being top of the league, they wanted to turn us over and they were well up for it."

"In the first half we were waiting for things to happen while they were going about their business, getting on second balls and getting balls forward."

"It was a real wake-up call for us."

STIRLING ALBION MANAGER DAVE MACKAY:

"It was a sloppy start and it looked as though the long journey had taken its toll on the players' legs but after that, we sparked into life and for 35 minutes I thought we were excellent."

"We carved Peterhead open at every opportunity and with the pace we have got in our side, we can do that to teams."

"Everything seemed to click and we played some great football."

"It has been a great start to the season and I know the boys are capable of that, that is why I kept them all on."

"I knew the other players I brought in over the summer would improve us and it is looking that way at the moment but we need to keep doing what has got us into this position."
