Rory McAllister, who is just one goal away from his 150th for Peterhead, is convinced he can score at least 30 this season to try and ensure the Balmoor club's stay in League 2 is a brief one.

McAllister has already netted five times in five appearances in all competitions so far this term, including a brace against Elgin on Saturday.

The 30 year old believes a new-look, creative Blue Toon will continue to provide plenty of opportunities, which he aims to capitalise on.

Prolific McAllister, who arrived from Brechin in 2011, said: "I just take every game as it comes but hopefully, in terms of goals, I can be in the late 20s or 30s."

"The last time I played in this league, I scored 33 so if I can aim for that again, I don't think we will be too far away."

"The manager has brought in a lot of good players, who like to pass the ball and play good football so I think we will create lots of chances, which should be good for me."

"I think, with the quality we have in our squad, we should be competing in a league above."

"I'm not saying we deserve to be there, or that we are too good for League 2, because last season was really poor but we want to be back playing in League 1 and competing at the top end in that division."

"We have got ourselves in this position though, so we have got to get back to where we want to be."
