Peterhead edged a dramatic five-goal thriller against Alloa to save themselves from relegation.

But midfielder Jamie Stevenson knows the Blue Toon are far from safe in their quest to avoid the drop.

The Balmoor club have a League 1 play-off semi final with Montrose and should they progress over two legs, they would meet either Forfar or Annan.

Links Park will stage part one of the double-header on Wednesday night and Stevenson believes having the second match on home soil is an advantage

Stevenson said: "Ultimately our season boils down to the next two weeks so all the boys will prepare properly and give their all for the club."

"We just need to knuckle down and keep working hard because these play-off games could come down to a bit of individual brilliance or it might be a bit of luck."

"Being at home for the second leg is good for the Glasgow-based players because it means we can still travel up to Peterhead on Friday night the way we normally do."

"That's better rather than us coming up for a midweek match but the most important thing is that we make Balmoor hard for teams again, like it used to be."

Stevenson continued: "The play-offs are obviously a two-legged affair but if we get a good result at Montrose, it would set us up for Saturday so fingers crossed."

"We have got a good squad of players and whether or not we should be in this position, does not really matter.  It's all about staying in the league."
