The form guide between Peterhead and Stranraer bears no similarities.

The eighth-placed Blue Toon are currently on a seven game winless streak in League 1.

Compare that with Saturday's opponents, who saw an impressive seven match unbeaten run come to a halt last weekend when they were edged out by leaders Livingston.

Yet, Jim McInally's men remain just a point adrift of the Stair Park club, whose results have improved dramatically under new boss Stevie Farrell.

The Peterhead manager said: "Stranraer had been on a long undefeated run before they lost last Saturday so it is pretty amazing that we are just a point behind them."

"It just shows you what is going on in this league."

McInally went on: "It would be massive for us pyschologically to win the game knowing that, after the fantastic run that Stranraer have been on, we could actually go above them."

"That is our incentive and, of course, it will be the last time that we will play them this season so it is a big, big game."
