Preview: Peterhead v Brechin

Fri 10 Mar 2017

Peterhead midfielder Simon Ferry is unavailable for the League 1 visit of Brechin.

The Blue Toon captain is due to see a specialist later this month over an ongoing back problem.

A knee ligament injury means Nathan Blockley is still not ready to return and although Rory McAllister serves a one match ban, Scott Brown returns from suspension.

Jim McInally's men were beaten on their first two meetings with Brechin earlier this season but they did turn the tables on the Hedgemen in the New Year fixture.

The Peterhead boss is fully aware of the significance of their fourth and final clash with Darren Dods' team as the Aberdeenshire side bid to ease their relegation fears.

Previewing the Balmoor encounter, McInally said: "This is massive."

"In the last quarter of the season, unless we win a certain amount of games, it is going to be really tough for us."

"We have made the players aware of that and they are under no illusions, neither am I."

"The last time we played Brechin, we beat them and there is no reason why we can't do it again on Saturday."

"We just need to make sure that we are strong, we cut out the individual errors and that we are brave."

"Regardless of our league position, I want the players to go out and have a real go and take part in the game."

"If they do that, they will have a chance of winning and that would be a start to getting out of this mess."
