Monthly gong for Peterhead manager

Fri 10 Feb 2017

A recent run of three wins from four matches has seen Peterhead boss Jim McInally come in for recognition.

The former Dundee Utd midfielder has been named Ladbrokes League 1 Manager of the Month for January.

The Balmoor side managed 1-0 victories at Brechin and Alloa and also defeated Queen's Park 4-0 at Balmoor, the venue where they suffered a narrow defeat to leaders Livingston.

McInally told Ladbrokes News: "We had some big games in January and the players deserve credit for doing so well and coming through them but it’s one of those leagues that’s so cut-throat that you can’t rest on your laurels."

"There’s every chance of getting relegated and there’s every chance you could be in the play-offs. It’s nice to get the award for the team but I won’t get too far ahead of myself."

The Ladbrokes monthly awards are voted for by members of the Scottish media, with a Manager and a Player of the Month selected for each of the four divisions.
