Blue Toon claim friendly win at Montrose

Tue 05 Jul 2016

A goal in each half gave Peterhead a comfortable 2-0 win at Montrose in their first work-out ahead of the new season.

Jamie Stevenson's free-kick had the Blue Toon in front at the interval and Jordon Brown headed in the second after the break.

Former Balmoor skipper Calum Macdonald was named among the substitutes in a match which saw new signing Scott Rumsby named in a strong starting line-up.

This weekend, Jim McInally's men have a double-header against Highland League sides Fraserburgh and Formartine respectively.
