Andy Rodgers is flying high

Fri 29 Apr 2016

Peterhead forward Andy Rodgers is certainly no stranger to an aerial challenge, but off the field he's preparing to embark on his toughest one yet.

That's because he has lent his support to The Hollie Taylor Fund, and will be taking to the skies on the 24th of July to dive from a plane -- that is two miles high!

The Hollie Taylor Fund is a specially named fund of the Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group, and all donations will go towards research into a rare childhood cancer known as Malignant Rhabdoid Tumours. Holly Taylor was just a year old when she was diagnosed, and her mother Elaine McDowall - as well as Scot Buist - will be diving alongside Andy.

Ahead of the event, Andy is looking for sponsors and has promised that there will be an added twist if the response is strong: he's thinking about completing the skydive in a tutu!

The fundraiser is off to a strong start and has already passed into three figures. Any and all donations are gratefully received and there is still plenty of time to show your support. If you would like to donate to Andy's cause, you can do so here.
