In form Peterhead chase 20 without loss

Thu 24 Mar 2016

The continuation of the Blue Toon's outstanding unbeaten run this Saturday would keep Dunfermline waiting at least another week for the League 1 title.

Peterhead meet bottom of the table Cowdenbeath at Balmoor, with their play-off spot already assured.

Jim McInally's men are seeking to stretch the sequence of undefeated games to 20 after reeling off 13 wins and six draws since November.

Should they do so, the Pars will not be celebrating at East End Park regardless of their own result against in-form Brechin.

But Peterhead have their own priorities, with the Petrofac Training Cup final against Rangers at Hampden just over a fortnight away.

Last week's matchwinner against Airdrie, Andy Rodgers, is aiming to play his part in the next few weeks, after coming off the bench to claim his first goal of the season.

The 32 year old hit form this time last year with three goals in as many games and is aiming to make the most of more game time.

Rodgers said: "I would imagine the gaffer will mix things up a bit between now and the end of the season."

"He will want to keep players fresh because we have big games coming up, not just the cup final but the play-offs as well."

"The squad is quite tight here but its about quality not quantity and we have got that."

"I will just go and contribute when I get my chance."
