We have to prove a point, says American midfielder

Thu 28 Jan 2016

Peterhead welcome fellow promotion hopefuls Albion Rovers to Balmoor this weekend, with midfielder Kevin Dzierzawski determined to make it third time lucky against Darren Young's team.

The Blue Toon have yet to come out on top against the reigning League 2 champions this season after a draw and a defeat in the previous two meetings.

However, with Peterhead on a tremendous 10 match unbeaten run and tucked in behind Dunfermline and Ayr, Dzierzawski feels the time is right to turn the tables on the Cliftonhill club.

The well-spoken American said: "We have not beaten Albion yet so we have to prove a point."
"It's how you show up and play on the day so we will not take anything for granted just because we are in good form.  But I feel it's definitely a game we need to pick up points from to keep the run going."
"Albion are in the same boat and will look to take points as well so it will be another tough match."
"We will give 100% and hopefully everyone is healthy and fit and ready to go at the weekend."

Bidding to cement their place in the play-off zone, Peterhead have an eight point cushion over their top four rivals although Albion, who are directly below them, do have three games in hand.

Dzierzawski added: "We cannot get complacent."

"We are doing really well right now but I think as long as we keep playing with the same confidence and the belief we have in each other, we can keep picking up points."

"I think everyone feels that, right from the staff to the players"
