ELGIN 0-2 PETERHEAD

Rory McAllister’s double at Elgin gave Peterhead their third straight win in League 2 to consolidate third spot and stay three points behind leaders Stirling Albion.

The Blue Toon travelled to Moray having already defeated the Black and Whites twice this season, without conceding a goal, in the Betfred Cup and the league.

The Balmoor men were without skipper David McCracken so Allan Smith came into the team with midfielder Scott Brown slotting back into the defence.

McAllister, wearing the captain’s armband, kept up his rich vein of form by opening the scoring in the 24th minute with a shot from inside the penalty area, which found the bottom corner.

Elgin, whose new boss Gavin Price was named Manager of the Month for October prior to the fixture, tried to find a route back into the match.

However, McAllister got his and Peterhead’s second in the 71st minute by beating Marc Waters to the ball before bundling it in.

That was the Blue Toon frontman’s ninth goal in his last four outings and his 16th so far this season in all competitions.
